The Virginia Association will offer five USATF Officials’ Clinics in 2019. The purposes of these clinics are to assist coaches, meet organizers, referees, and track officials in creating a successful track & field environment for all. At these clinics, we will stress the fundamentals of officiating, points of emphasis, new changes from the rule books, national mechanics, and tips of the trade. For USATF certification purposes, you are required to attend 1 clinic per Olympiad. However, there are some collegiate conferences and officials’ coordinators who require you attend each year. If you regularly work many meets in a conference, you need to check with your coordinator to determine how many clinics you must attend per Olympiad. New to Officiating? A new official’s orientation will occur during the last part of these clinics. If you are aware of anyone interested in becoming certified, please forward this to them, and tell them to notify us at vatrackinfo@gmail.com for more information
