Angell Wins USATF Masters 4 Mile Championships in Illinois

USATF Virginia standout David Angell delivered a dominant showing at the 2025 USATF Masters 4 Mile Championships, held June 14 in Peoria, Illinois.

Competing in the Men’s 45-49 division, Angell, 48, representing Roanoke Valley Elite, raced to victory in 20:42, securing the gold medal against a strong national field. His performance earned an age-graded score of 90.02%, a mark that is classified as world-class for surpassing the prestigious 90.00 threshold.

Angell not only won his age division but was also the first athlete across the finish line in a field of 54 men, underscoring his dominance on race day. With the win, he now leads the 45-49 division in the year-long USATF Masters Grand Prix standings. A five-time Grand Prix champion, Angell is seeking to capture his sixth career title this year.
