Virginians Win Twelve Titles at USATF Masters Track & Field Championships in North Carolina

Erycka Fisher wins four titles; Brandee' Johnson captures two; Ronald Humphrey turns in top age graded performances

Results 

The 2023 USATF Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships culminated on Sunday (23-July) in Greensboro, North Carolina.  55 members of USATF Virginia competed in 126 events during the four-day competition that started on Thursday. 

Virginia member athletes won 12 national titles and earned another 33 visits to the awards podium for finishing in the top three in their event.

Winning national titles were:
  • David Angell (M45-49 5000m)
  • Walter Bass Jr. (M80-84 Shot Put)
  • John Billingsley IV (M30-34 Hammer Throw)
  • John Cerminara (M30-34 Discus Throw
  • Ronald Humphrey (M60-64 300m Hurdles - pictured above)
  • Brandee' Johnson W25-29 200m, 100m Hurdles)
  • Adam Otstot (M40-44 10000m)
  • Anna Roberts (W30-34 Javelin Throw)
  • Jim Sharps (M75-79 80m Hurdles)
  • Julia Siegel Breton (W35-39 1500m)
  • Craig Woshner (M50-54 10000m)
  • Pony Express T&F Club (M45 4x100m Relay)
Athletes scoring over 90% on the age grading tables (indicating their performances were classified as world-class) were:
  • Ronald Humphrey (M60-64 400m) - 93.52%
  • Ronald Humphrey (M60-64 300m Hurdles) - 93.39%
  • Willie Spruill (M65-69 100m) - 90.04%
In the team scoring the Pony Express Track & Field Club finished sixth (men), eighth (combined), and 17th (women).
