Awards and Recognition

• Ray Funkhouser (White Stone, VA) was the recipient of the Lori Maynard Award presented by the Officials committee.  The award is given annually to the official who best exemplifies the qualities of Lori Maynard; the qualities of a truly dedicated race walk official, organizer and administrator..
• Karen Stowers (Hampton, VA) was presented with the Chair Award by the Officials Committee.  The award recognizes individuals whose support to the chair and the committee reflect their dedication and leadership and who have significantly assisted in helping the committee to reach its goals.
• Steve Taylor (Richmond, VA) was awarded the Brooks Johnson Development Chair of the Year by the USATF Development Committee.
