USATF Virginia to offer up to $7500 in travel grants for Olympic Trials

USATF Virginia is awarding $1500 travel grants to five selected athletes within the association who plan to attend the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials -  Track & Field.  

Our goal is to support and help emerging athletes in the Virginia Association as they strive to achieve their dream of competing in an Olympic Games, a World Championship, or other Team USA events. USATF Virginia provides assistance to athletes that meet (or are approaching) grant criteria (i.e., including income thresholds and performance standards). 

Eligibility for grant application submissions:

• Athletes must be a current USATF Virginia Association member.
• Athletes must have met the entry qualifying standards to participate. All qualifying performances for the U.S. Olympic Trials (Track & Field) must be attained on a standard outdoor track (or on an indoor track, in the same event) in the period Tuesday, January 1, 2019, through Sunday, June 13, 2021.  Qualifying standards and U.S. Olympic Trials registration must be completed before June 13th, 2021. Please read the qualifying standards before starting the grant application.  
• The application must be filled out in its entirety. Failure to do so will result in the application being voided.

The deadline for submitting a grant application is May 17, 2021.

Selection process
Once all applications have been received a selection committee will review them and the five athletes will be notified.
