D’AMATO RUNS U.S. #10 ALL-TIME HALF MARATHON IN MICHIGAN
Wins Michigan Pro Half Marathon
SHELBY CHARTER TOWNSHIP, Michigan —
Keira D’Amato
, 36, of Midlothian, Va. moved to 10th on the all-time U.S. women’s performer list in the half marathon with her 1:08:57 win at the Michigan Pro Half on Wednesday morning. The U.S. record of 1:07:25 is held by Molly Huddle. Other legendary names now just ahead of D'Amato include Emily Sisson (1:07:30), Deena Kastor (1:07:34), Jordan Hasay (1:07:55), Sara Hall (1:08:18), Amy Cragg (1:08:27), Shalane Flanagan (1:08:31), and Joan Benoit-Samuelson (1:08:34)
D’Amato, who set her previous personal best of 1:10:01 at the Houston Half Marathon in January, outran Olympic Trials marathon seventh-placer
Emma Bates
of Idaho by 47 seconds. D’Amato is a two time USATF Virginia Athlete of the Year.
